We are happy to present our new association as well as our refreshed logo. Vasco shares his vision: "This logo represents two hands that symbolize friendship, a universal concept, friendship beyond words, friendship between two countries and with the whole world.
Dear Kads, dear friends, dear brothers and sisters,
After ten years of existence, it was time to give new life to our association. A new dynamic team, full of ideas to bring together those who love Korea. We are about 3700 adoptees in Belgium and we would be delighted to meet you at our events. We hope to see you very soon.
The KAB team
KAB Team
The members of the KAB team are all volunteers and work for free to keep the KAB association alive; they are all honest and do not receive any benefits, each one pays their membership fee.
Sophie Jonot
President
Hello everyone !
My name is Sophie, I am a "Brusseles", a true zinneke! My daily life? It’s in the hospitality sector, welcoming and sharing. Today, I am putting this energy into a project that is particularly close to my heart.
My goal is to give a boost to those who are looking for their biological family. I want to bring together the community of Korean adoptees so that we can support each other through various events. You are no longer alone in your journey to reconnect with your roots: we are here to help each other!
Sandra De Saedeleir
Vice-President
Ok-Mae Rouzeeuw
Secretary and Public Relations Manager
Hi everyone! I’m Ok-Mae. I was adopted in Brussels and I now live in the Waterloo area. In my professional daily life, I work as a Client Representation and Operations Service Manager at the 1st French financial group.
As a Korean adoptee and head of the Biological Family Research section within KAB, my primary goal is to assist you in your search for your family. Because we share the same story, there is no distance between us. I am here to help you submit your file to the relevant service, guide you, and ensure follow-up alongside you throughout your journey.
You are no longer alone in this adventure!
Valérie Maquinay
Treasurer
Hello, my name is Valérie Maquinay, my Korean name is Han Hyun Mee. I was found at the age of 2.5 years in Masan, South Korea. I was adopted in Belgium in Verviers and today I live in the Mons region. I work as an accounting assistant in a CISP and it was only natural for me to join K-A-B as treasurer.
Michael Cheung

I am not a Korean adoptee, but I
joyfully offer my skills to KAB. As the communications officer of the
association, I ensure the smooth operation of our
digital platforms, manage our image, and provide assistance where it is
needed, particularly for organizing our activities.
